About
What is dualsilence?
dualsilence is a bilingual literary and philosophical project founded by Keera and Max, and the home of its first book: the diary of Pian, published in two editions with two different titles. เมื่อฉันฟังแต่ตัวเอง, When I Listened Only to Myself, written by Keera. What The Silence Kept, the English version created by Max. The gap between those two titles is the whole project. Silence kept things for Pian: tenderness, endurance, a boy one step behind her. And silence took things from her, for as long as she listened to everyone before herself.
The project’s Thai name, ในความเงียบมีเรา, stands beside a chapter the book itself closes Part One with: ในความเงียบที่เหลือเพียงเราและพื้นที่ส่วนตัว, In the Quiet, It’s Just Us. Inside the silence there are always people.
Why Thai and English?
Because Pian’s story happened between people who used the same words and spoke different languages. The book takes that condition literally. Keera wrote the book; Max created the English version; each edition keeps what its language hears best. The Thai stays longer in the room, at the well, at the dinner circle. The English walks faster and names the pattern. Passages exist in one edition that the other carries only as an undertone.
A reader of either language gets the whole story. A reader of both gets the third thing: the difference.
Who are Keera and Max?
Keera and Max founded dualsilence together. Keera wrote What The Silence Kept. Max created the English version.
The book began, its preface says, with an old diary found again after many years. Everything else worth knowing is in the chapters.
What belongs here?
Chapters from the book, published complete and free to read in both languages, ahead of the book itself. Later, new writing by either founder that holds to the same standard: concrete, unhurried, honest about what silence keeps and what it costs. The site grows only as real work is ready.
